Table

Category: Objects

Seeing a dining table spread with ready food signifies divine favor, answering a supper or midday meal call, easy finances, elevated rank, and defeating one’s foe—here, the foe is hunger itself. The dishes laid out embody generous provision. Removing the dishes signals the end of ease and grace. The household table mirrors one’s daily bread, a sizable venture needing many hands, or a noble, truthful, open-handed person; sitting at it means keeping company with such a figure. Clean fare and warm bread atop the table show affection among companions; scant food and a few slices reveal lukewarm bonds. Accepting an offer to break bread together points to mutual love, solidarity, and adherence to prophetic ways. One or two plates foretell personal gain and support for dependents. A hearty appetite promises long life. An emptied table after eating marks life’s closure. Many guests eating together stand for those under the dreamer’s care. Adversaries sharing the same board warn of combat, especially if roasted meat and greens are present, turning the table into a battlefield where every bite equals a clash. The board itself may also denote devotion; sharing meals forecasts new friendships and pleasant gatherings, yet later disputes over livelihood will surface. (See also Food, Guest, Invitation, Hospitality, Table)

Table of contents

Category: Other

(Chapters, Drawers, Scrolls) In a dream, a table of contents symbolizes the essence and structure of knowledge, representing the core subject of a bound or hardcover book that contains gems of wisdom and learning. It points to organized understanding, guidance, and insight into matters that are yet to unfold. Such a vision may also denote wealth and abundance, symbolizing a rich woman or a wealthy man, or material assets that are carefully recorded and preserved. It can further represent a report card, register, or record of deeds, reflecting accountability, evaluation, and forthcoming outcomes. Additionally, a table of contents may signify hidden or stored benefits, future gains, an astrological sign, a scroll, or a drawer—each pointing to matters that are arranged, catalogued, and awaiting disclosure at their proper time.

Tablet

Category: Objects

Observing the celestial Preserved Tablet in a dream exposes one’s deeds and hidden reflections; it brings joyful news to the afflicted, recovery to the sick, yet signals backsliding for those steeped in foul habits. For the pious, the vision bestows direction regarding what the Almighty has decreed lawful and unlawful. To the stingy it unveils their allotted portions and confirms the narrow limits of worldly life. The Tablet also embodies safeguarding knowledge, indexing sources, or amassing wealth for kin and successors. It stands for a custodian of assets, a treasurer, a secret-keeper, or a supervisor. Beholding it promises tranquillity after dread. A sovereign who sees it will see his dominion widen or unearth a vast hoard. Tablets given to Prophet Moses denote witnesses, spiritual mentors, guidance, or warning. A wooden slate equals one’s spouse, offspring, farmland, or serenity after panic, and for the seeker it equals learning. Every board, in essence, warns against sin. Receiving a writing slab from an Imam betokens leadership, knowledge, insight, or becoming an Imam; if good counsel is inscribed, the gift is mercy and direction. An iron board forecasts a son who will be a formidable scholar and man of strength. A polished board grants a brave boy who attains his aims, seizes his wishes, and seldom knows defeat. A corroded one denies the son lasting lineage. A stone slate foretells a heart as hard as rock. Copper implies the boy will mature into a hypocrite; lead points to effeminacy. A tablet may picture a woman, its script her children, or an astute, sweet-tempered lad who heeds his teacher. Obtaining a board from authority bestows power. A pregnant woman who sees a blackboard will deliver a male child.

Such a figure reflects deceit, interference, and hidden malice. This interpretation is rooted in the old belief that the bite of a tarantula caused a severe and dangerous nervous illness. Accordingly, even though the tarantula is in reality a harmless hairy spider, its appearance in a dream may symbolize a deadly enemy whose harm lies not only in direct action, but also in a piercing sting, a hostile glare, a scornful attitude, or a look filled with contempt. Tongue

Category: Human Body

(Also known as Interpreter, Pen, Writer of words, Stinger, Translator) Within a dream, the tongue signifies one's personal translator or the manager of one's affairs. It is considered the primary instrument of sin. To move the tongue without producing speech in a vision indicates committing a transgression. Witnessing one's tongue grow larger, broader, or longer suggests gaining power and prevailing over an adversary. Should the tongue extend without any quarrel or debate present, this points to possessing a malicious tongue, engaging in gossip, speaking ill of others, or employing foul and disgraceful language. A lengthy tongue may alternatively denote clarity and eloquence in expression. Possessing two tongues signifies learning another language or mastering a second craft, utilizing evidence from another in legal proceedings, or achieving triumph over a foe. A tongue that feels bound or knotted indicates business stagnation or the onset of poverty. The appearance of black hair upon the tongue warns of an imminent calamity, while grey hair suggests a slowly approaching misfortune. Hair growth on the tongue can also symbolize composing or reciting poetry. The tongue further represents a solid defense, the grace and persuasiveness of one's speech, a skilled professional delivery, a reputable standing, and virtuous behavior. If a ruler's tongue is severed, it foretells the demise of his spokesperson or scribe. In dreams, the human tongue also stands for one's pen and authority to sign documents. A tongue that elongates to touch the heavens signifies a leader's removal from power due to tyrannical and unjust rule. Conversely, a ruler's lengthening tongue may reflect the growth of his authority and the absolute effectiveness of his decrees. The tongue can also symbolize a nursing infant, a lion in its cave, or a clever fighter. Releasing a lion from its den thus represents the tongue's power to wound feelings or reputations. To see oneself tongueless may predict the death of a child. For a defendant in court, a cut-off tongue means his evidence will be dismissed by the judge. Losing only part of the tongue hints at doubts regarding a witness's testimony, a merchant failing in a significant transaction, or a student not finishing their studies. Some interpretations say a severed tongue indicates a patient and tolerant individual. A wife with a cut tongue signifies her chastity and piety. If a wife severs her husband's tongue, it means she will show him affection and playful fondness. Cutting off a poor person's tongue denotes giving to an insolent individual to ward off their mischief. A poor person cutting another's tongue foretells a conflict between them. A tongue adhering to the roof of the mouth suggests denying someone's rights, rejecting truth, or breaking a trust held for safekeeping. Consuming or biting one's own tongue signifies an action one will later regret; for a leader, it implies embezzlement or bribery. Biting the tongue can also mean choosing silence, withholding counsel, or restraining rage and temper. It may further indicate greed. Having one's tongue removed invalidates one's argument or prevents requests. A poet's tongue being cut suggests receiving payment for a recitation. A black tongue indicates one may lead his community; for a deceitful person, it confirms their falsehood. A fearful person seeing their tongue portends defeat in a struggle, leading to slander and disgrace. A miserable person with many tongues forecasts a large family or the ability to speak numerous foreign languages. A forked tongue reveals a liar. Multiple, multi-colored tongues suggest telling inconsistent tales or represent a composer of music. People touching or sucking one's tongue indicates they gain knowledge from him, or it symbolizes flattery and influence-peddling in official matters. The tongue can also represent a concealed treasure, hidden wisdom, a flattering servant, an employee, a home, a conveyance, a cunning enemy, the sapling of a fruit tree, a troublesome wife, a barren woman, spoken and irretrievable words, income, gathering refuse, following tracks, an officer of the law, or a captive. An animal's tongue symbolizes life or death, as it functions like a hand for grasping. A scholar's severed tongue means losing a debate or the death of an aide, pupil, or child. Losing one's tongue reflects the spiteful delight of enemies, family, or neighbors at one's misfortune, or may signify the loss of a loved one, a severed bond, a crop blight, marital separation, divorce, loss of employment, or relocation. Two tongues can also denote hypocrisy and duplicity. If the second tongue does not hinder speech, it signifies honesty, love, and kindness. The tongue may also embody a feared object, like a falling ceiling, or represent an adversary. It can mean distancing oneself from the learned and wise, practicing quiet discretion, tending to one's own matters, or expressing devout gratitude to God for His endowments and favors. Tooth

Category: Human Body

Dreaming of teeth symbolizes an individual’s essence, years, lineage, sons, daughters, kin, wealth, attendants, household creatures, workers, arms, existence, demise, harmony, parting, deposits, or reserves. Within the vision, the upper teeth of a man or woman signify the male kin from the father’s lineage, while the lower jaw’s teeth denote female relatives from the mother’s side. Relatives are closer the nearer the teeth are to the front. Separated into two parts, the upper right front tooth stands for the father; the upper left front tooth signifies a paternal uncle, or may represent sisters, sons, or an intimate companion. The upper pointed teeth, or canines, denote a cousin or two friends bound like cousins. The premolars symbolize maternal uncles and their offspring, and the molars represent grandparents and grandchildren. The lower right front tooth is the mother; the lower left front tooth is an aunt from the father’s side, or they may indicate two sisters, two daughters, or two devoted friends sharing deep affection and care. The lower canines signify a female cousin from either parental line. The lower pointed tooth, or eye-tooth, denotes the master of the household or the property owner. The upper and lower molars also signify the most distant family members, including a grandmother and her granddaughters. A tooth shifting in its socket foretells an ailment. Its dropping or loss predicts the death of the person it represents, or a permanent separation where they are seen no more. Should one retrieve and keep a lost tooth instead of interring it, it indicates someone will arrive and become as dear as that relation. Burying it, however, means the relative’s passing. (2) In dreams, the parts of the body also reflect family members, and their condition may manifest among kin. Likewise, anything affecting the teeth in a vision can be read as impacting those relatives. If front teeth appear lovely and shining, they forecast authority, distinction, and success for the father or an uncle. Additional front teeth growing in the mouth herald an expansion of the family through a newborn brother or son. Teeth seeming slightly decayed suggest an ordeal, or a shameful act by the family that brings dishonor. Attempting to extract one’s own teeth signifies spending wealth reluctantly, paying a penalty, breaking from parents and severing blood bonds, or proving disloyal to relatives. Teeth turning yellow or black portends a disgraceful deed that will taint the family’s name. Yellow teeth may also mean expending resources to recover one’s standing, or being regarded as learned. A foul oral odor implies negative consequences arising from praises the family receives. Decaying teeth indicate weakness within the family unit. Being bitten by people in a dream suggests one might have feigned something publicly but managed to hold back. (31If the mouth symbolizes the household, then teeth on the right side are the boys, and on the left are the girls. Alternatively, right-side teeth may signify the elder generation, left-side the younger. Front teeth represent the young men of the family; the pointed canines symbolize the young women. Molars denote the aged. Losing a molar foretells the death of an elderly household member. (4lHuman teeth also denote one’s enterprise and conduct of life. Here, molars reflect private affairs, the eye-tooth semi-public matters, and the front incisors what is done openly—one’s public persona, speech, and actions. Broken teeth suggest slowly settling debts. Long teeth signify hostility or conflict among household members. Seeing teeth become crooked and decayed, then deciding extraction is best, means escaping grave troubles and perils. Teeth turning to gold brings gains for an instructor or orator; for others, golden teeth signify fire, sickness, a fungal ailment, or a malady from excess bile. Teeth becoming glass or wood predicts death. Silver teeth indicate injury or financial loss. Front teeth falling out and being replaced by new ones signifies profound life changes. Forcibly pressing the tongue against the teeth means speaking ill of one’s own family or indicates domestic strife. Damage or loss of the crown or enamel of an eye-tooth foretells a son’s death. (')Teeth symbolize one’s extended family, close kin, or distant cousins. Molars are the males; front teeth are the females. Needlessly pulling teeth means incurring a penalty, losing principal funds, or cutting ties with family. Discovering one or two cavities suggests one may father one or two sons. A bad mouth odor signifies disparaging another’s thoughts or a familial quarrel. Fallen teeth may indicate spouses sleeping apart, poverty, dying abroad, or an extended lifespan. Extracting and burying one’s teeth means the entire clan or family will perish before the dreamer. Pulling teeth also reveals one’s secrets. Losing a tooth can imply retribution for a misdeed. Upper and lower jaw teeth intermixing means women dominate the men in the family. Flossing teeth indicates the family scattering or loss of possessions and money. If meat remains lodged between teeth after flossing, it means the dreamer backbites his relatives. (8) Teeth may also represent a strand of pearls, a millstone, or a military array—the right flank, left flank, and forward assault line—or they can mean cutting blood relations. Front teeth may symbolize a person’s heart. Teeth in a pocket or palm represent brothers. If a confined relative is seen and one’s teeth are extracted, it means that relative’s release from detention. Extracting one’s own teeth could also mean a traveler’s homecoming. Tartar on teeth reveals family frailties. Black or fractured teeth denote grief caused by kin. Wisdom teeth symbolize one’s adherents; front and canine teeth represent wealth, ornamentation, pride, or offspring. Their color changing to yellow or black reflects life changes. Teeth turning to iron denotes fortitude. Losing teeth may also mean losing employment. Extracting teeth so none can see them implies barrenness, business failure, loss of savings, poor family relations, an evil act toward kin, or attempting to fund an enterprise with borrowed money leading to ruin. Pulling out a troublesome tooth from waking life in a dream means trying to pacify a difficult person whose harmfulness will end. Replacing a tooth with a bridge means recouping losses or balancing one’s affairs. An extra tooth in a dream predicts losing one in reality. (Refer also to: Body; Suffering; Teeth)
