Islamic Interpretation
The eagle is considered the sovereign among birds. Wrestling with an eagle in a vision signifies hardship, the wrath of a superior, or oppression under a tyrant. Possessing a tame and obedient eagle denotes wealth, honor, and authority. Owning and flying an eagle oneself suggests one will become an oppressive ruler. Being scratched by an eagle foretells illness. A slain eagle signifies the demise of a ruler. For a pregnant woman to see an eagle, it represents meeting a midwife or a nurse. The eagle can also symbolize a mighty ruler, a prophet, or a righteous person. Hearing its cry portends a fright. Consuming eagle meat or acquiring its feathers means receiving money from a person in power. If an eagle seizes someone and carries him horizontally through the sky, it signifies a journey. If the flight is vertical, it points to death. In a dream, an eagle may also represent a long life, prosperity, introducing religious innovation, or negligence. (Refer also to the entry for Vulture.)
