Step-by-step instructions: how to request account deletion

These steps are the primary way to request deletion. Follow them in order:

1. Open your email app and create a new message.

2. Send the email to: butepberge@gmail.com

3. Use this exact subject line:

Dream Wisdom โ€” Account deletion request

4. In the body of the email, include:

  • The email address of your Dream Wisdom account (the one you use to sign in)
  • Optional: your user id, if you know it
  • A clear request, for example:

โ€œI request permanent deletion of my Dream Wisdom account and all associated personal data.โ€

5. Send the email.

6. We confirm receipt and process the request after we verify that you control the account email.

7. We complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request (see timeframes below).

Alternative (if available in your app version): open the Dream Wisdom app โ†’ Profile / Settings โ†’ Delete account. If the app asks you to email us, use the same address and subject as above.

What types of data will be deleted

After we verify your request, we delete or irreversibly anonymize personal data linked to your Dream Wisdom account that we control, including:

  • Account and sign-in data โ€” email or other identity used to sign in to Dream Wisdom
  • Profile data โ€” profile fields stored for your user account
  • Dream journal data โ€” private โ€œMy Dreamsโ€ entries and related notes
  • Premium / entitlement data in our systems โ€” Premium or subscription status flags we store for your user id
  • Other personal data you submitted while signed in that we control and that is tied to your account
  • Your deletion-request email content โ€” kept only as needed to process the request, then deleted (see retention below)

What types of data may be retained, and for how long

  • Payment and invoice records held by Paddle (Merchant of Record) โ€” retained by Paddle under their legal/tax policies (we do not fully control their retention schedule).
  • Purchase records in Google Play or Apple โ€” retained by the app store under their policies.
  • Aggregated or anonymized analytics โ€” data that no longer identifies you may be kept in non-identifying form.
  • Security, fraud-prevention, or legally required records โ€” only if required by law; kept only for the period required by law, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Temporary copy of the deletion request โ€” typically up to 30 days after we complete deletion, then deleted.

Subscriptions: If you have an active Premium subscription, cancel it separately in Google Play (or your payment provider). Deleting the account does not always stop store billing by itself.

Processing and retention timeframes

  • Verified deletion request processed: within 30 days
  • Deletion-request email retained after completion: up to 30 days, then deleted
  • Data kept only because the law requires it: only for the legally required period

If we need more time (for example to verify identity), we will notify you by email.

Who has a Dream Wisdom account?

You may have an account if you signed in to the Dream Wisdom mobile app, used the private journal on the website, or used Premium linked to your user id. Browsing the free dictionary or blog without signing in does not create an account.
