A towel can also symbolize one's spouse—representing a wife for a man and a husband for a woman. If a towel is employed as a covering during marital relations, then it stands for a trustworthy servant who safeguards his lady's confidences, or it may represent funds that provide for a woman's and her children's necessities. To fling a towel at another person means to shut a door against them, or to signal a parting of ways between two individuals. To cast in the towel in a dream further signifies surrendering or abandoning a struggle.
