In a dream, a ring symbolizes peace, serenity, authority, a spouse, a child, or an occupation, and the benefit or reward it brings corresponds to the worth and size of the stone set in it. If a man whose wife is pregnant sees himself wearing a gold ring, it signifies that she will give birth to a son. A king’s ring represents his dominion and power. Cutting off a tight ring with pliers indicates the loss or end of authority. Any engravings or settings on a ring reflect one’s ambitions and objectives. If the gemstone falls from the ring, it may indicate the death of a child or the loss of one’s business. A broken ring points to divorce. Wearing an iron ring signifies gains that come with hardship and effort, while wearing a gold ring set with a precious stone denotes benefits gained with ease. A plain ring or band without a stone signifies engaging in a difficult undertaking with no reward. Rings made of ivory or animal horn bring glad tidings for a woman. Lead rings indicate weak authority. Sending one’s ring to people who return it means a proposal for marriage will be rejected. If one’s ring is forcibly pulled from his finger, it signifies loss of rank or status, and losing a ring altogether signifies experiencing an unwelcome or distressing event.
