Seeing a cooking pot in a dream symbolizes one’s wife, livelihood, and household, while its lid represents the husband or protector of the home. A pot that appears sound, valuable, and well kept reflects nobility, honor, and good standing within the family. Seeing a pottery cookware seller indicates comfort and ease in earning a living without the need for travel, whereas a seller of copper or other cookware signifies a livelihood gained through constant movement and going from place to place. A cooking pot also represents a scholar or learned man seated in the position of teaching, with the meat, vegetables, and spices inside it symbolizing his knowledge, wisdom, and the benefits offered to those who seek learning. A pot boiling on fire with water inside signifies a divorced woman. It may also represent a handsome man who is mindful of how his neighbors perceive him. A pot can likewise symbolize a housekeeper, and whatever happens to the pot in the dream reflects what may befall that person. If there is a sick person in the household and one sees an unfamiliar pot on the stove, the stove represents the sickbed, the fire reflects distress or depression, and the boiling water denotes worries and anxiety; if the boiling ceases, the contents cool, and the fire goes out, it signifies recovery from illness. Placing a pot filled with meat and vegetables on the stove indicates imposing oneself on another to obtain a favor; if the meat becomes cooked, the benefit gained will be great and lawful, but if it remains uncooked, the gain will be unlawful. Stirring a pot signifies backbiting or speaking ill of someone. Eating directly from the pot represents savings and additional benefits. Stirring an empty pot with no food indicates asking a poor person to do something beyond his capacity, resulting in no benefit. A cooking pot also reflects firmness and relentlessness toward one’s enemy, contentment with destiny, acceptance of divine decree, and may symbolize a woman or wealth.
