Penny (also cent or small money). In a dream, pennies symbolize speech, minor deeds, faith, trust, and everyday sustenance. For a pregnant woman, seeing pennies indicates the birth of a son, gratitude and remembrance of God, accepted supplications, or, in some cases, quarrels, striking someone, or harsh behavior. Receiving a stack of pennies signifies that others will place their trust and responsibility in the dreamer, while pennies in general point to conversation and exchange of words; if they appear new and clean, the talk will be sincere, beneficial, and meaningful, but if they are worn or damaged, the speech will be weak or harmful. Pennies also represent solving people’s problems, fulfilling obligations, and performing prayers, and counting them reflects evaluating one’s actions and measuring one’s deeds. Other coins such as nickels, dimes, quarters, or similar tokens denote worldly benefits, material gains, and prosperity. If pennies are tied to one’s wrist, they symbolize livelihood, income, and daily provision. Owing money in a dream means being called to testify before a judge or being held accountable. Old, chipped, or broken pennies indicate weakness in faith or neglect of religious duties. Losing a penny points to wasting time, money, or words, or giving advice to someone ignorant who will not accept it. Pennies bearing a person’s image signify innovation and deviation for both the carrier and the one who issued them. Pennies broken in half represent deep enmity or hostility that cannot be repaired. Receiving money is better than giving it, and if one’s real wealth turns into pennies in a dream, it signifies loss, hardship, or bankruptcy, whereas seeing small amounts of money increase foretells growth, prosperity, and improvement in one’s condition.
