Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, the minaret of a mosque symbolizes a righteous man who promotes harmony and affection among people, calls them to uphold their religious covenant, and leads them toward the path of God Almighty. The destruction of a minaret in a dream signifies the death of such a guide, the fading of his remembrance, the dispersal of his followers, and possibly a reversal of their circumstances. The minaret of a city’s main mosque represents a messenger or one who summons people to God’s way. Falling from the top of a minaret into a well in a dream means marrying a strong-willed woman who speaks harshly, while already having a devout wife with whom one lives in peace and tranquility; it also indicates loss of authority or control. Climbing a wooden minaret and calling people to prayer in a dream signifies attaining power and rank through hypocrisy. Sitting alone atop a minaret while praising God’s greatness and affirming His oneness means gaining fame, while loud glorification signifies relief from sorrow and distress by God’s permission. A mosque’s minaret may also represent the ruler’s chief minister or the muezzin. (Also see Lantern, Mailman, Masjid, Mosque, Muezzin, Watchtower)
