Islamic Interpretation
In a vision, a lock symbolizes a reliable individual or an unmarried chaste woman. Opening a padlock signifies release from confinement or prison. For someone afflicted by melancholy, unlocking a lock means the dissipation of his grief or distress. A lock also represents evidence, a decisive argument, or an instrument. Unfastening a padlock can also signify divorce. Securing a door with a lock means seeking a co-signer for a debt or a guarantor. For one seeking marriage, seeing a lock foretells meeting a trustworthy and affectionate woman. For a traveler, a padlock denotes security. A metal lock signifies honor, protection, devoutness, interpreting a tongue or symbols, or attaining knowledge. Wooden locks represent a husband, offspring, knowledge, wisdom, comfort in life, or keeping one's word. Locks may also denote negligence.
