In a vision, a lance represents a wooden staff, firmness derived from one's power, or abandoning error. It may also signify a woman, a child, bearing truthful witness, or embarking on travel. Holding a lance suggests a grandson or a favored son who will mature to lead and protect people with his life. A broken lance indicates an irreparable flaw or sickness that will affect one's child. Bearing a lance while mounted signifies authority accompanied by esteem. Denying ownership of a lance warns of an unforeseen event or treachery. If it belongs to a brother, it signifies a disaster. Repairing a broken lance means healing from illness. A lance missing its point foretells the death of a brother or child. A lance may also represent a sibling or comrade who will separate from his kin or friend, or the loss of employment. Walking with a lance in hand through a marketplace symbolizes strolling with one's son. For a pregnant woman, a metal lance indicates she will bear a daughter and receive a monetary gift or present from other females after the birth.
