Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, glass signifies an initial period of temporary anxiety, depression, or stress; this condition is less severe if the glass appears as broken chips collected in a container. Seeing through glass means uncovering hidden matters. All glassware, including stained, engraved, or decorative glass in green, red, or yellowish hues, represents a suspicious person, money from a dubious source, suspicion about one's wife or true children, or it may denote eavesdropping, affectation, or hypocrisy. Glass by-products symbolize knowledgeable people, scholars, gnostics, sages, or the wise. Buying a glittering glass ornament or a mother-of-pearl house means choosing worldly pleasures over the hereafter, disdaining God's commands, or apostasy. A drinking glass cup represents a woman. Receiving a glass of water means one's wife is pregnant. An unknown or roughly cut glass of water indicates a fetus in the womb; if the glass breaks but the water remains, the mother may die in childbirth while the infant survives; if the water spills but the glass stays intact, the fetus may die while the mother lives. Breaking a glass also denotes the death of the server. For a sick person, being given a glass of wine, water, bitter apple drink, or laxative represents his final cup.
