The front threshold of a home in a dream reflects one’s strength or may symbolize marriage. Removing the doorstep signifies losing that power. Taking away the lintels indicates divorcing one’s spouse. If the lintels vanish entirely, it points to death; if still visible, it suggests an illness followed by recovery. The lintel can also represent a woman of the house or its attendant. For a governor, seeing his doorstep removed means dismissal from office. Whatever occurs to the doorstep should be understood in relation to one’s wife or a woman. (Also see Threshold)
