A door in a dream represents the guardian of the household. An open door indicates a source of provision. The house door also symbolizes the wife. If its appearance differs from reality, it denotes changes in one's life. If broken or burned, it foretells hardship for the guardian. Seeing a small door within the main entrance signifies intruding upon others' private chambers, a secret affair of one's wife, or exposed betrayal at home. Lions leaping at the door mean insolent men will pursue the wife. Seeking an unfindable door indicates indecision. Entering through the main door signifies victory over opponents. A door opening directly to the street means earnings benefit strangers more than the household. A disappearing door means the head of the household dies. Passing through a small door into open space signals relief from troubles. Exiting through the main door into a verdant garden symbolizes entering the afterlife. Two knockers or ringlets on the door denote debt to two demanding creditors. Fire consuming the door means the wife's death or failure to manage the household. City gates represent a just ruler.
