Islamic Interpretation
A ceiling in a dream stands for an honored or influential person. If it is wooden, it symbolizes someone deceitful or unreliable. If it appears ready to collapse over one’s head, it reflects fear of a powerful figure. Should dust or debris fall onto one’s clothing, it indicates receiving money as compensation after hardship. If the main pillar supporting the ceiling breaks or falls, it signals the death of the head of that household. A collapsing ceiling likewise points to his death. Hiding beneath a roof suggests returning home to steal from one’s own family. Water dripping from a ceiling signifies mourning for the deceased or sorrow over an ill family member. If rain causes the ceiling to disintegrate, it means financial loss or falling from favor. Standing on a roof and being unable to descend points to imprisonment. The ceiling’s central beam represents a hypocrite who backs corrupt associates; if it breaks, such a person will be removed from authority. If the ceiling falls upon someone, punishment or suffering will strike him. Seeing stars beneath one’s roof warns that the ceiling may soon cave in. (Also see Cave-in)
