Islamic Interpretation
A sound structure in a dream mirrors affection, harmony, offspring, wealth, a mantle of dignity, and daughters within the clan. A sturdy construction points to resilience, assistance, and extended years. Erecting a fresh building signals private or shared worldly gains. Should the dreamer raise it with his own hands, intimacy with his wife is implied. A church denotes a Christian identity, a mosque proclaims Islam. When a scholar builds a mosque seeking divine pleasure, he will produce a beneficial study or become a sought-after guide in sacred matters. If a sovereign raises a mosque for God’s sake, he will govern justly, enjoin right, and forbid wrong. A school brands him a teacher, a hospice marks him an ascetic. A sick man who builds a house will heal and thrive. Seeing buildings reveals resolve and desire; joy at finding a lofty one shows ambition for rank. A house larger than real forecasts enlarged provision; if it swells beyond measure, worry arrives, or uninvited envoys bring disaster, or nuptials will fill it. House-building also widens circles, fortifies kinship, and, for generals or chiefs, assembles a mighty force. It further hints at restored authority, celebration, or trade profits, all proportional to wall thickness. Conversely, tearing a house down betokens conflict, dispersal of family, friends, or troops. Renovating an ancient edifice for others means reforming their manners or reviving their customs; reconstructing Pharaoh’s palace revives his regime. Laying a foundation then finishing it seeks wisdom or command. A house in a strange district predicts marriage to a woman of that place. A ceramic structure adorns the soul; clay permits lawful income. Carving images therein gains science, crafts, or a high post mixed with vice. Plaster or painted bricks conceal fraud. Fortifying walls completes paternal heritage and trade. (Also see Builder)
