Islamic Interpretation
In dreams, a banner stands for widespread recognition, renown, leadership, the crown of triumph, a scholar, a religious leader, or a devout individual who is alert and brave. It may also represent a wealthy and charitable person, or a powerful, triumphant champion whose conduct is admired and emulated. A red banner suggests one will obtain joy from the person it symbolizes, or may become embroiled in a conflict with them. For a woman, a banner represents her spouse. Witnessing banners unfurled in a procession can signify forthcoming rain. Black banners denote an encounter with a learned person. White banners symbolize an envious individual who may remain unmarried. Yellow banners warn of a spreading illness. Green banners indicate a journey over land. A banner or flag can also symbolize being entangled in a confusing situation with no apparent resolution. However, seeing a flag at a specific location suggests one will navigate through hardships, surmount grief and trials, find inner calm, and see their way forward. If the flag represents a nation, it may mean traveling there. Should a woman see herself interring her banners, it portends marriage to three successive men from the aristocratic tier of society. For an expectant woman, a banner signifies the birth of a son; for a merchant, it indicates a commercial associate. If a ruler dreams of being as rain and wind while carrying a banner, it signifies he will govern the inhabitants of a particular region. When associated with rainfall, a flag is often interpreted as a sign of a tyrannical ruler. Carrying a banner in a dream signifies striving for a judicial position. (Also see Flag)
