If a medical practitioner appears as a tanner, it reflects his skill and the widespread benefit of his cures. Unless the tanning process is flawed, it may point to an unqualified individual. When interpreted in worldly terms, a tanner symbolizes deliverance from mortal danger. Viewed through a spiritual lens, he represents providing sustenance to the impoverished during scarcity.
