Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, a tallow-chandler or wax-chandler symbolizes light and illumination in both worldly and spiritual matters. He may represent occasions of festivity, joy, and happiness, as candles and wax are associated with celebrations and gatherings. At the same time, he can signify sorrow, crying, illness, or death, since candles are also used in times of mourning and vigil. Such a figure may further denote guidance, knowledge, and spiritual awakening, for light dispels darkness and reveals truth. In another sense, the chandler can symbolize desire, emotional intensity, or the fragility of life, as wax melts quickly, reminding one of the transient nature of worldly pleasures and human conditions.
