Islamic Interpretation
(Angelic beings, Journey) Soldiers in a vision symbolize God's chief angels and the forces of compassion, whereas hired fighters represent the forces of chastisement. If one sees himself as a soldier consuming his meal within a king's private rooms, it means he will govern a region with little exertion. If one's name is enrolled as a soldier, it denotes his well-being, contentment, or that he will pursue further learning. If an infirm person sees himself as a soldier in a barracks, or being mustered out of service, it means his sickness will culminate in death, or it may signify troubles, anguish, and losses. An assembly of soldiers signifies the ruin of the unjust and the triumph of the righteous. A soldier bearing a whip or arrows also denotes upright behavior. One hundred soldiers represent the punishment and tribulation God Almighty sends upon the earth's inhabitants for their transgressions at the turn of each century, or the dawn of a new one. One thousand soldiers represent the blessed Night of Decree near the close of the fasting month of Ramadan. If soldiers are commanded by a prophet, king, sage, or scholar, it means victory for the faithful. An army entering a town may signify rain. (Refer also to Night of Power)
