Pilgrimage (Hajj). Seeing oneself performing the pilgrimage to Mecca in a dream, completing its obligations and observing its rites, signifies spiritual elevation, strengthening of faith, and righteousness. Such a dream promises great reward in this world and the Hereafter, relief from fear, and indicates that the dreamer is honest and trustworthy. If the dream is seen during the actual season of pilgrimage, it denotes benefit and success for a merchant, healing for the ill, guidance after negligence, or the likelihood that the dreamer will perform the Hajj if he has not yet done so. If it occurs outside the pilgrimage season, it may carry an opposite or delayed meaning. Seeing oneself as a pilgrim while neglecting the real pilgrimage despite having the ability to perform it signifies ingratitude and moral corruption. Performing Hajj in a dream also points to the duty of honoring and serving one’s parents, being sincere to one’s teacher, or fulfilling obligations toward them. It may also symbolize visiting a learned or pious person, marriage, seeking knowledge, fulfilling needs, recovery from illness, repentance from sins, or keeping company with the righteous. Traveling for pilgrimage by a vehicle in a dream indicates divine assistance, while going on foot and leading a camel signifies help from a woman. Riding an elephant suggests performing the pilgrimage as part of an official or governmental mission. Walking on foot implies a vow that must be fulfilled. Returning from pilgrimage represents relief from distress and financial gain. Carrying provisions means piety, reverence, settling debts, or giving the poor their due. Seeing oneself departing alone for pilgrimage while people bid farewell indicates an approaching death.
