Islamic Interpretation
An oven in a dream, whether a furnace, kiln, grill, or household range, symbolizes authority, livelihood, and the management of affairs, and lighting it for warmth or cooking signifies growth in earnings, expansion of benefits, and progress in one’s livelihood, while an oven inside the home indicates resolving a problem, restoring order, or gaining victory over enemies. An oven that produces no ashes points to an unhappy or flawed marriage, and interpretations vary according to the type of oven seen, for a grilling oven signifies imprisonment for a free person and release for one who is jailed, and it also represents a respected scholar or wise authority whose judgments reconcile disputes and satisfy opposing sides. A household range symbolizes the head of the family, the housekeeper or servant, as well as stored wealth, a coffer, or a safe place, while a baker’s oven represents the governor’s residence, a reform house for youth, fulfillment of needs, earning a livelihood, or recovery from illness. Baking dough in a dream indicates satisfying necessities, regaining health, triumphing over enemies or opponents, winning legal disputes, teaching a child a trade, sending a child to school, enlisting a son in service, or attaining wealth, and a bakery oven also reflects one’s source of income, business, profits and losses, personal desires and impulses, or changes in life circumstances. Seeing an unknown bakery oven points to the governor’s house or a courthouse, since fire symbolizes power and sovereignty, and an oven in general also represents a marketplace where exchange, gain, and loss take place.
