Shaking hands with Omar in a dream indicates prosperity, piety, vigilance in faith, and strong belief, with deeds whose worth exceeds one’s reputation, while seeing him frowning means a call to justice and a command to enjoin good and forbid evil. If a land suffers from drought and Omar is seen in a dream, it signifies the coming of rain and blessing, and if tyranny prevails and he is seen, it foretells the establishment of justice and fairness. If Omar strikes someone with a stick, warns him, or threatens him in a dream, it is a sign that the dreamer must abandon wrongful actions or deviation from God’s path, or that he may face discipline or persecution from a ruler or scholar. Seeing oneself as Omar or wearing his garments in a dream means attaining honor, a dignified rank, or dying as a martyr, and seeing him smiling indicates adherence to the teachings of God’s Messenger, peace be upon him, and following his Sunnah. Being an orphan in a dream may also signify sadness arising from love for a woman, or from the loss of property or wealth.

At times, he also represents distress and hardship. The orthopaedist may symbolize an architect, and likewise an architect represents an orthopaedist in a dream; thus, seeing him can signify construction. He may also represent a generous person who shelters and helps the needy, a wise individual who heals wounded hearts, a just judge, a great scholar, a cobbler, or a tailor. If one sees himself before an orthopaedist for a broken bone and then complains of an abscess in his neck, which the orthopaedist opens with pliers to drain it, this signifies a debt that must be repaid, a vow that must be fulfilled, giving testimony in court, or submitting to the judgment of a scholar. If an orthopaedist sets one’s broken right arm and binds it to his neck, it means being compelled to perform a personal favor that prevents him from fulfilling other duties or charitable acts.
