Seeing the king frowning indicates negligence in prayer or religious devotion, while his smiling denotes material and spiritual profit. Being appointed king by God over a land means receiving such authority if qualified, followed by unrest where tyrants face justice and the pious regain power. Becoming a caliph or Imam in a dream brings honor and fame if qualified, but humiliation and misfortune if not. An unqualified person seeing himself as king may die soon, or if healthy, a family member may die. This vision also exposes secrets. A philosopher or fortune-teller becoming a king foretells glad tidings; a slave becoming one means freedom. Becoming a great worldly king signifies earthly success but religious failure; for a con artist, it means capture and imprisonment. A man receiving a womanly knighthood signifies death. Being reprimanded by the king means peace between them. Arguing wisely before a king leads to victory; being complaisant leads to loss. Walking shoulder-to-shoulder with the king means opposing him; following him means pursuing his traditions. Prostrating upon entering the king's palace brings a leadership appointment and pardon.
