In a dream, a hunter symbolizes a libertine, a seducer who gathers women, or a procurer. Befriending or assisting a hunter, when he is pursuing animals lawful for food, signifies personal benefit and advantage. If the hunt targets creatures forbidden for consumption, it indicates hardship and suffering. Hunting a lion signifies attaining great power through cunning or deceit. Hunting sparrows, hawks, or falcons likewise denotes acquiring authority. Hunting birds or pigeons represents a deceitful trader, while hunting wild beasts signifies cheating travelers. Fishing symbolizes womanizing. A hunter of beasts represents one who exploits foreigners, while a bird hunter may also symbolize a schoolteacher, music instructor, or a preacher.
