(Country, Farm, Ground, Globe, Land, Locality, Place, Property) In a dream, every locale carries a specific meaning tied to its essence and state. Seeing the land of the great assembly on the Day of Resurrection signifies the keeping of a promise or that the dreamer is fit to guard secrets. Earth can also mean attaining wealth after poverty, or peace after great tribulation. It may herald marriage to a beautiful young maiden, or signify receiving guidance and achieving a lofty, honorable worldly station. Observing the globe borne on the back of a whale or an ox, unchanged, foretells the deposition of a country's ruler, who will either abdicate or be supplanted by his minister. Sweeping and tending to a floor mat or carpet symbolizes caring for one's community or household. Earth also represents one's mother or the land's governor. Activities in a farmland—its tools, elements, seeds, watering, plowing, harvesting, landscaping, the blossoming and scent of flowers, any light or result seen therein—all mirror corresponding success or failure in waking life. An unknown land may symbolize one's mother, child, spouse, partner, guardian, servant, or heirs. Earth can also denote disputes, knowledge, or eloquence. It signifies the worldly element, while the sky represents the hereafter. Seeing both simultaneously underscores their eternal separation, as this world and the next cannot coexist. Cracks in the topsoil indicate fertile, arable land, but also the emergence of heretical doctrines and the spread of evil and innovation. If the earth cracks open and a beast emerges speaking human language, it portends a bewildering miracle or event for all to witness, or the approach of life's end. Digging the earth can also mean scheming and deceiving others. If the earth speaks kindly to someone, he will attain what it says. If it rebukes him, he must correct his conduct and seek God's forgiveness and guidance.
