In a dream, a leather tanner or a cloth dyer represents a deceitful individual, though he may also perform good deeds. The dyer can symbolize a person of substantial wealth, someone in a position to assist others, a man of learning, or an authority figure. Seeing a dyer change a white garment's color to green signifies repentance from wrongdoing. If he dyes a white garment black, it indicates apostasy or abandoning faith. Should one see a dyer in his home, either receiving or taking garments to dye, he symbolizes an adulterer and suggests that a member of that household may die within the year.
