In a dream, dust represents material wealth. Witnessing a dust cloud signifies an enigmatic situation from which escape seems difficult. Washing dust from one's hands denotes a descent into poverty. Dust settling after a rainstorm or a display of thunder and lightning indicates periods of drought or calamities. A dust cloud stirred by the swift movement of a vehicle or a horse symbolizes taking command of one's affairs, engaging in deceit, or stirring up conflict. Dusting one's shop and casting the dirt onto the street foretells business losses. Should a merchant see his goods coated in dust, it portends a slump in trade and difficulty selling his merchandise.
