('Ali ibn Abi Talib—may God honor his face—cousin and son-in-law of God’s Messenger, peace be upon him.) Seeing him in a dream signifies triumph over one’s enemy. To see him in a place where people mourn him, perform his funeral prayer, carry his bier, or prostrate to him indicates becoming a martyr, preparing for rebellion, causing division, or falling into hypocrisy. If a scholar sees Ali, it represents an increase in knowledge, asceticism, dignity, and inner strength. Seeing him may also indicate being seized by an enemy, migrating from one land to another, and often dying as a martyr. His presence in a dream can signify blessed offspring, defeating adversaries, leadership among believers, hardships during travel, spoils, the appearance of blessings or miracles, attaining exceptional knowledge, following the example of the Prophet, peace be upon him, or successfully carrying out one’s commands. Seeing Ali as an elderly man indicates forming a relationship with the rulers of the land and benefiting from it. Seeing his body covered with wounds means becoming the target of people’s slander and defamation.
