Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, the stomach represents wealth, family, secrets, one’s spouse, confinement, the grave, health and illness, companionship, travel, religious life, and the quality of one’s devotion. Seeing the stomach opened signifies interruption of one’s livelihood or loss of benefits, and the same symbolism may apply to the other meanings. For a pregnant woman, seeing her child or part of it emerging from an open stomach may indicate the release of an imprisoned relative, disturbance of family graves, exhumation revealing hidden defects, or exposure of private affairs. If one suffers from a stomach ailment, such a dream points to healing. Seeing oneself without a stomach signifies loss of a friend, death of a guardian, or turning toward ascetic devotion. Fire coming from the stomach indicates repentance from misappropriating orphans’ property. Crawling on the stomach reflects poverty, struggling to survive, or excessive materialism. The stomach may also represent valley plains, tribal origin, or lineage. Entering a stomach signifies travel, imprisonment, or return from either.
