In a dream, a spider represents a malicious or scheming woman, or a weak, deceitful, and withdrawn man who operates through subtlety rather than strength. It may also symbolize perfidy, hidden plots, or distant hostility. At the same time, a spider can represent a weaver, an ascetic, or a monk, pointing to solitude, renunciation, and preoccupation with one’s own affairs. Seeing a spider in a dream may indicate encountering a pious, devout, or religious person, particularly one inclined toward seclusion and worship. Weaving a spider’s web in a dream signifies weakness, fragility, or reliance on feeble means that offer little real protection. A spider in a dream may also symbolize a pleasing, gentle, or compliant wife, depending on the dreamer’s condition and the context of the vision. If one sees a spider hanging down from the ceiling, it signifies the approach of a harsh or severe winter in that region, marked by cold, hardship, or prolonged difficulty. (Also see Tarantula)
