Islamic Interpretation
Reading the opening page of a letter, newspaper, or book in a dream signifies coming into an inheritance, while reading the final page or the back of a book points to debt or financial obligation. Reading a book in general also denotes inheriting wealth. If a person who is educated sees himself reading fluently in a dream, it indicates attaining a position of authority or a prestigious job. Seeing oneself reading the record of one’s deeds means turning back in repentance from sins. Reading a book written in another language signifies traveling to that land, entering unfamiliar places, or undertaking work that brings recognition and renown. If one reads a foreign-language book but cannot clearly understand its words, it means escaping a danger in that country, or falling ill there and then recovering before returning home.
