Reading the Noble Qur’an, or a portion of it, in a dream signifies elevation in rank, attainment of authority, repentance from sins, abundance, settlement of debts, witnessing the truth, or returning a trust to its rightful owner. Reciting the Qur’an with a beautiful and pleasant voice in a dream denotes honor, dignity, and a good reputation among people. Reading the Qur’an while inserting one’s own words into it in a dream indicates deviation from the truth or betrayal of a pledge or covenant. If, in such a case, the dreamer does not comprehend the meaning of what he is uttering, it means that he may give false testimony before a court or become involved in an evil matter whose consequences are unknown. Seeing people listening attentively to one’s Qur’anic recitation in a dream means assuming a position of responsibility and that others will follow his commands. Hearing or reading a Qur’anic chapter that is customarily recited for the deceased in a dream signifies the death of a sick person within that household. Professional reciters of the Qur’an in dreams represent the prominent and leading figures of society. Hearing a professional Qur’anic recitation in a dream means that people of authority will soon gather in the place shown in the dream. If one sees himself reading his record on the Day of Judgment in a dream, and he is illiterate in waking life, it means that he will become wealthy after poverty, that he will be able to answer all questions on the Day of Reckoning, or that God Almighty will protect him from his greatest fear, provided the record is favorable; but if it contains his sins and faults, then it denotes hardship, distress, and suffering.
