Qur’an. (Garden, Sacred Scripture, Final Revelation) In a dream, the Noble Qur’an symbolizes a garden, for gazing upon it resembles beholding a beautiful orchard, and its verses are fruits of wisdom and knowledge that the reader gathers. Learning a verse of the Qur’an, a saying of the Prophet, a prophetic tradition, or a skill in a dream signifies wealth after poverty or guidance after heedlessness. Seeing oneself reading directly from the pages of the Qur’an in a dream denotes honor, authority, joy, and triumph. Reciting the Qur’an from memory without looking at the pages means truthfulness, the validity of one’s claim, righteousness, and enjoining what is right while forbidding what is wrong. If a person is told a Qur’anic verse in a dream, he should comprehend it, memorize it, and act upon it. If the verse speaks of mercy, glad tidings, or exhortation, the dream’s meaning corresponds to that message. If the verses contain counsel, one should follow it to gain benefit. If the verses include warnings, threats of punishment for disbelievers, or swift retribution for sins, one must hasten to repentance, even if the verses refer to earlier peoples or times. Seeing oneself reciting the Qur’an while understanding its meaning indicates alertness, intelligence, faith, and spiritual insight. If a verse is recited to someone in a dream and he rejects the divine judgment, it means harm from an authority or an imminent punishment from God Almighty. If an illiterate person sees himself reading the Qur’an, it may signify his death or the reading of his record. Reading the Qur’an without genuine interest in a dream means following personal opinions, interpretations, and innovations. Eating the pages of the Qur’an in a dream means earning one’s livelihood through its knowledge. Completing the entire Qur’an in a dream signifies a great reward from one’s Lord and the fulfillment of one’s requests. If a disbeliever sees himself reading the Qur’an, verses of admonition will benefit him, verses of punishment will warn him, and parables will call him to reflection. Writing Qur’anic verses on mother-of-pearl slabs or on cloth indicates interpreting it according to personal desire, while inscribing a verse on the ground signifies disbelief. Reading the Qur’an in a dream also denotes fulfillment of needs, purification of the heart, and establishment of success. Discovering that one has memorized the Qur’an in a dream, though not in waking life, means acquiring great property. Hearing the Qur’an signifies strengthening of power, a praiseworthy end, and protection from envy and harm. If a sick person recites a verse but cannot recall its chapter, it indicates recovery.
