Seeing pregnancy in a dream generally symbolizes growth, accumulation, and the carrying of something hidden that will eventually come to light, and it often points to material gain, prosperity, or expansion in worldly affairs. For a woman, pregnancy reflects diligence, perseverance, and success in striving toward her goals, as well as receiving recognition, honor, and abundance, though it may also signify hardships, trials, anxiety, or burdensome secrets she conceals. For a man, seeing himself pregnant represents heaviness in life, inner distress, sorrow, or fear of having his private troubles exposed publicly. In its broad meaning, pregnancy denotes wealth and gain, with the degree of prosperity measured by the months of pregnancy and the size of growth seen in the dream, whether the dreamer is male or female. For a learned person, pregnancy indicates an increase in knowledge and wisdom, while for a craftsman it signifies reaching unmatched mastery and excellence in his profession. Pregnancy may also symbolize intense love, overwhelming passion, misplaced efforts, deviation, physical illness, or moral confusion, and it can point to theft, concealment of stolen goods, hiding beliefs behind a respectable appearance, illness from spoiled food, burial of a loved one, falsehood, deception, accidents, or fire. For a woman, pregnancy can mean loss of virginity before marriage or marrying an unsuitable partner, while for a barren woman it signifies misfortune such as a poor harvest or theft in the neighborhood. If an unmarried woman or virgin sees herself pregnant, it indicates that she will find a suitable husband. A woman’s pregnancy in a dream signifies wealth, whereas a man’s pregnancy represents grief and worry, though both may still indicate eventual prosperity. If a young boy below puberty sees himself pregnant, it refers to his father, and if a young girl below menstruation sees herself pregnant, it refers to her mother. Seeing one’s wife pregnant reflects desire for material success. If a pregnant wife gives birth to a boy in a dream, she will give birth to a girl in waking life, and vice versa, unless the dreamer is accustomed to seeing his dreams manifest exactly. Delivering a child from one’s mouth signifies death or, alternatively, speaking refined and careful words. A man giving birth to a boy means bearing a heavy burden then finding relief, overcoming an enemy, or escaping a deceitful woman. If a pregnant woman gives birth without having had intercourse, it indicates discovery of hidden treasure. Seeing a pregnant animal signifies benefits, profits, and increase in sustenance.
