If a sick person eats the peel, it indicates recovery from illness. A pomegranate may also represent a chest, a beehive, or a honeycomb. White seeds denote small amounts of money, while red seeds signify substantial profit. A pomegranate can also signify fear or travel. A fresh-looking pomegranate represents a young virgin, while one split in half signifies a deflowered woman, a divorcee, or a widow. A rotten pomegranate symbolizes an immoral woman, and a sour one represents unlawful money, anxiety, or turmoil. Selling pomegranates means exchanging the eternal reward of the Hereafter for temporary worldly pleasure. Drinking pomegranate juice signifies spending on one’s livelihood. A pomegranate tree represents a pious, honorable, and wealthy man; if he is a merchant, his trade will continually grow.
