Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, a pig symbolizes a person stripped of human dignity, one who lacks integrity, morals, and restraint, and it represents a sworn, hostile enemy who is treacherous, deceitful, anxious, and unreliable, someone who lies, cheats, and fails to act upon his words. Riding a pig in a dream indicates acquiring a great amount of wealth or power, often through questionable means. Eating pork, whether raw, cooked, or roasted, signifies knowingly consuming unlawful wealth or engaging in forbidden earnings. Walking like a pig points to making fast profits from trade or investment, or attaining what one strongly desires, though often without regard for ethics. A wild pig represents harsh cold, severe weather, or difficult external conditions. Eating ham in a dream may symbolize benefit or gain for people in general, though it remains unlawful and blameworthy for Muslims. Seeing a pig in one’s bed indicates adultery or moral corruption within intimate matters. Small pigs represent distress, troubles, and minor but persistent adversities affecting the dreamer or the owner. A domesticated pig may signify abundance, good harvest, material prosperity, or fulfillment of physical needs and desires. A pig can also symbolize leadership over people of conflicting views, divorce, evil events, wastefulness, adopting demonic traits, unlawful earnings, or having many offspring. If a pig harms someone in a dream, it reflects the treachery and malice of an enemy or rival. Drinking swine’s milk signifies severe financial loss, deep regret, or committing a grave sin. Seeing little pigs entering one’s house represents intrusive inspection, surveillance, or interference by authorities into private affairs, while driving them out means withdrawing from government service or resigning from an official position.
