Boring a hole in a vision signifies deceit or trickery. Drilling a hole into stone represents probing into the affairs of a person in power. Making an opening in the wall of a fortress denotes an unhealthy fixation on young maidens and an intent to corrupt them. The act of piercing can also symbolize espionage, following someone's trail, contaminating one's livelihood with illicit gains, or a decline in the behavior of one's offspring. Excavating an underground passage beneath a city indicates a search for a specific individual. Digging a tunnel to access the interior of a dwelling points to attempts at wooing a woman, exerting undue influence over her, and then seducing her into betrayal. (Also see Tunnel)
