In a dream, a peacock denotes a conceited and pretentious individual. It may also symbolize a woman of great beauty and wealth, or people of cheerful appearance. If one dreams of possessing both a peacock and a pigeon, it implies he is a procurer. A female peacock represents a bride, offspring, or riches. Owning a peacock can signify aimlessness, negligence, arrogance, showiness, slander, deception, falsehood, trusting an adversary, the forfeiture of blessings, descent into poverty from wealth, and scarcity following abundance. Observing a peacock can also indicate adornments, garments, leadership, an attractive spouse, matrimony, and virtuous children. Consuming peacock flesh foretells the death of one's wife and the inheritance of her estate. Holding the iridescent, rainbow-hued feathers of a peacock signifies gains acquired through a woman's means. Capturing a peacock chick points to profits arising from a son born to that woman, or it may mean the begetting of a son. (Also see Chicken)
