Islamic Interpretation
In a vision, all species of the oryx genus—those imposing African and Asian antelopes bearing long, straight horns—symbolize a distinguished commander, a devout and solitary man who, while pious, may not adhere strictly to prophetic teachings; he could also be an ascetic or an originator of new ideas. To discover the eye of an oryx in a dream suggests marriage to a virtuous and comely woman whose life will be brief. If one's head transforms into that of an oryx, it denotes affluence or an appointment to a position of command. (Also see Buffalo, Mountain goat)
