Islamic Interpretation
Observing the commencement of a new year in a dream signifies transient joy, recollection, the departure of grief and trials, or the retrieval of misplaced wealth. In the dream, should the new year's day fall upon a Friday, it portends the proliferation of wickedness, decay, or political strife for that year. If it occurs on a Saturday, it foretells aridity, tribulations during a challenging year, pestilence, and sickness. Should it be a Sunday, it indicates a frigid winter and a favored harvest for that year. If it is a Monday, it means inundations, winter maladies, and possibly a partial failure of the yield. If it is a Tuesday, it denotes a paucity of rain and a bitter winter. Should it be a Wednesday, it signifies dearth and insufficiency of water, and chill conditions toward summer's end and autumn's onset. If it is a Thursday, it heralds a flourishing year, save for the well-being of domestic animals.
