Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, a mirage symbolizes falsehood or something that will never come to pass. If a person longs for something and then sees a mirage in his dream, it means that his desire is unattainable or that he will be denied it. A mirage also represents hypocrisy, ingratitude, denial of God’s oneness, and excessive attachment to worldly accumulation and pleasures. It may further signify deceptive hopes or goals that cannot be achieved. If someone is summoned to court as a witness and sees a mirage in a dream, it indicates that he will give false testimony. A mirage also stands for baseless stories, deception, and lies presented as truth. (Also see Ghost)
