Hunger in a dream signifies wearing mourning clothes, being overtaken by fear, or holding one’s hand tightly. It also points to financial loss, striving to preserve certain standards, perseverance in earning a livelihood or pursuing one’s craft, and attachment to worldly matters. Some interpreters view hunger as fullness and thirst as quenching thirst within dreams. Seeing oneself hungry in winter indicates a trial of gluttony. Prolonged hunger in a dream signifies benefits that come after a long delay. Hunger may also symbolize wealth, harmful companionship, visiting others, ascetic practices, fasting, inflation, injustice, poverty, and at times piety, restraint from wrongdoing, or remembering and giving thanks to God Almighty.
