Islamic Interpretation
Henna, the reddish-orange dye derived from the leaves and stalks of the henna plant, symbolizes a man's professional tools, as well as embellishment, wealth, success, or offspring; for a man to see his hands stained with henna in a dream signifies continuous praise and gratitude toward his Lord; however, if only the right hand is dyed and appears unattractive, it suggests he might commit a killing; applying henna to the hands also indicates recklessness in revealing both virtues and flaws openly, or delivering goods or services without accepting responsibility for defects, errors, or inappropriate conduct toward clients; if the hands are intricately tattooed with henna designs, it means deceit in earning income, which will ultimately be uncovered, causing rivals to delight in his downfall; for a woman, having her whole body covered in henna foretells harmonious and affectionate relations with her spouse; if the henna fails to take color after application to her hands, it implies her husband withholds his affection; if merely the fingers are tinted, they symbolize date branches or grape clusters; overall, using henna to color hands and hair as adornment denotes marital joy and contentment for both spouses, provided it remains within accepted boundaries.
