Islamic Interpretation
In a dream, grass signifies religious consciousness, goodness, and divine blessing. Seeing grass sprouting in the palm of one’s hand indicates discovering one’s wife in a hidden affair and finding her in the presence of another man. If grass grows over one’s hand, it foretells imminent death and grass growing upon his grave. Grass appearing in an unsuitable place, such as inside a house or a mosque, points to a wedding. When grass grows over a person without covering the eyes or ears, it denotes prosperity. Grass growing on people’s hands or floating upon water signals an abundant harvest and widespread prosperity. If weeds appear alongside it, they indicate harmful effects. For a sick person, such a vision means his death is near. Grass growing over the stomach signifies death or burial. Grass covering the entire body except the head represents wealth and abundance, while grass covering the eyes and ears shows heedlessness and loss of religious benefit. The same meaning applies to feathers growing over the body. Poisonous weeds growing over the body indicate illness or death. Since grass feeds cattle and cattle symbolize wealth, gathering or eating grass means prosperity. If an ascetic eats grass in a dream, it shows a return to worldly desires and deception by them. Wild grass represents unlawful earnings and a miserable livelihood. Cutting and selling grass means relief from hardship, or it may symbolize a police officer or a tax collector.
