Islamic Interpretation
A fountainhead appearing in a dream signifies blessings, divine favor, abundance, and achieving one’s aims. Seeing numerous springs bursting forth inside one’s home, when the dreamer lacks discretion, points to a calamity that will overwhelm him and his family with grief and tears. Performing ritual ablution from a fountainhead indicates receiving lawful earnings. Discovering a spring denotes prosperity. If water erupts within the house or beneath its walls, it signals a misfortune caused by a woman, a brother, or a brother-in-law. When the water flows into the street, it means the adversity will depart and peace will return. Clear and pure water represents sadness accompanied by physical strength and good health, whereas murky water is disliked. Owning a flowing stream symbolizes one’s livelihood, business, occupation, or lasting good deeds that continue to benefit after death, such as righteous offspring, a school, mosque, road, book of knowledge, or charitable endowment. Overflowing waters that flood one’s property signify sorrow, weeping, and distress, and the same applies to drinking from it. Multiple springs gushing forth indicate prosperity gained through corruption. A spring in a valley brings blessings to many, especially the sick and needy, while a dried well signifies the opposite. For a distressed person, seeing a spring means relief, repayment of debts, healing, or repentance. A spring of sweet water denotes collecting profits or rents. A rivulet carrying pure water to one’s house represents profit, ease of living, and bestowed blessings. (Also see Rivulet, Spring)
