Flesh

Category: Human Body

Islamic Interpretation

Human flesh in a dream symbolizes one’s physical condition, strength, livelihood, illness, or place of business, as well as piety, observance of worship, fear of sin, discernment between lawful and unlawful matters, patience, tolerance, anger, grief, sexual desire, trials, and punishment for wrongdoing. If one sees his flesh increase beyond its normal state, it indicates prosperity, and for a sick person it signifies recovery. Seeing less flesh than usual points to stagnation in trade or loss of wealth and possessions. When a devout worshipper appears thinner, it reflects negligence in devotion and increased attachment to worldly gains and pleasures. Losing one’s flesh in a dream signifies going astray. Buying human flesh means unsold or stagnant merchandise. If a judge or ruler sees his flesh increase, it suggests fame through judgments, accumulation of wealth, or growth in anger and fury. Increased bodily firmness also denotes joy, happiness, and celebrations, while emaciation represents hardship and affliction. Seeing flesh turn black or blue, or skin cracking, signifies trials, illness, or punishment for sins. Eating the increase of one’s flesh denotes usury or living off usury and consuming one’s capital. Eating one’s own flesh also means using up capital or committing an act that will lead to regret and sorrow. (Also see Meat)
