Islamic Interpretation
Eggs stand for thriving fortune or dread of exhausting wealth. For the single they herald wedlock; for the married they point to offspring. Should a dreamer’s hen deposit eggs, a household birth is near. A boiled egg eaten signals easy living and lawful money, whereas swallowing it raw hints at forbidden profit, adultery, or hardship. Watching one’s wife lay an egg forecasts a child short in belief. A broken egg warns the newborn will perish soon. Tending hens for eggs and seeing them hatch revives stalled matters with fresh success, and each chick may equal a God-fearing descendant; every cracked shell can mark one. A basketful also hints at a gathering of kin. (See also Boiled eggs, Omelet)
