Islamic Interpretation
Witnessing a solar eclipse in a dream indicates a disaster awaiting the head of the state, whereas a lunar eclipse points to a misfortune that will strike the chief minister. Some interpreters add that a solar eclipse may also foretell the passing of the dreamer’s spouse or his mother. Should a cloud veil the solar radiance in the vision, it foreshadows an illness afflicting the country’s ruler or the regional governor. If the sleeper sees the sun travelling above the clouds yet unable to break through them, it is believed to signal his own demise. Within the dream realm, the sun can embody a distinguished scholar, while a cloud obstructing its light may symbolise the downfall of a tyrannical leader. (See also Moon, Sun)
