In a dream, a donkey symbolizes a boy, a child, a wife, livelihood, a scholar without practical work, or travel. Riding one may ease difficulties. Riding any animal without proper gear signifies imposing on oneself or others, or taking an unnecessary and inadequate path. Riding a donkey or mule represents one's adornments, children, a wealthy spouse, riches, or profitable trade. Its braying signifies evil, severe trouble, a child born of adultery, or malevolent spirits. Riding a large donkey denotes a dignified station. An upright donkey represents worldly benefit; a handsome or white one signifies ornamentation. A skinny donkey means poverty; a fat one, wealth. A black donkey brings happiness, honor, and prosperity; a green one, fear of transgression. A saddled donkey signifies an honored son; one with a long tail, an enduring dynasty; its hoofs represent money. A donkey's death foretells the owner's death, a break with friends or family, the death of a supporter, selling a cherished property, divorce, travel, or a husband's demise. A stray donkey with no known master symbolizes an ignorant, intrusive, and demanding person. Owning donkeys means associating with ignorant folk.
