Islamic Interpretation
(Prophet David, peace be upon him.) To see him in a dream indicates the dreamer will attain power and authority, but may also fall into sin, adopt an ascetic life, face a trial and oppression from a wrongdoer, then by God's will be delivered and triumph over his adversary. He may also receive a high office or a rank of distinction. Some interpretations state that seeing Prophet David heralds the rule of a just leader, an honorable president, or a righteous judge in one's land. If the current ruler is unjust, this vision signifies God will replace him with a fair one. Should one become Prophet David or wear his robe in the dream, it means appointment as a judge, if qualified. If not qualified, it denotes prosperity, an increase in piety, and righteousness achieved through devotion, God-consciousness, sorrow, and tears of reverence and love for the Lord. This vision can also signify holding a deputyship, facing trials or troubles caused by women, the recitation of the Qur'an, constant remembrance of God, performing night prayers, understanding scripture, repentance, chanting divine praises, returning to the path after negligence, working with metals, or having one's repentance accepted. For one in metalwork, it promises great wealth or the mitigation of difficulties. Seeing Prophet David can also mean a successful conclusion to one's worldly life. If an unjust scholar sees him frowning or giving a warning, he must guard against wrongdoing and correct his ways.
